'Manners Are Missing': Janhvi Kapoor, Vishal Jethwa Slammed For 'Ignoring' Ishaan Khatter During Cannes Interview (VIDEO)

Actors Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa recently attended the Cannes Film Festival for the screening of their film Homebound. While the trio walked the red carpet and gave multiple interviews, a short video clip from one such interaction has now gone viral on social media, stirring controversy.

In the video, Ishaan is seen engaging in a conversation with a journalist, while Janhvi and Vishal, who were sitting right beside him, appear to be talking amongst themselves. Janhvi is seen whispering something into Vishal's ear, to which he responds, seemingly ignoring Ishaan's interview, which even they were a part of.

The video has sparked criticism online, with several users calling out Janhvi and Vishal for 'disrespecting' Ishaan during a formal media interaction. Many felt it was inappropriate for the two actors to carry on a private conversation while their co-star was giving an interview, accusing them of being 'unprofessional' and 'rude'.

Sharing the video on X (formerly known as Twitter), a user wrote, "Honestly, when someone is giving an interview, the other person should have the courtesy to not keep whispering, it's a bit disrespectful to the person speaking."

Another user wrote, "This is hella disrespectful. Ishan run."

"Want to school them like a teacher seriously. 5 minute bad mein krlena baatein bhai. Jindgi bhar ka nhi h interview," wrote another angry user.

"Manners are missing," another comment under the now-viral post read.

"This is so rude of them," wrote another person on X.

About Homebound's Cannes screening

Filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan's Homebound made a powerful impression at its world premiere at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, receiving a nine-minute standing ovation. The Hindi film, starring Ishaan, Vishal, and Janhvi, was lauded for its storytelling and emotional depth.

Among those present at the event were producer Karan Johar, as well as Janhvi's father, Boney Kapoor, and sister, Khushi Kapoor, along with the makers of the film.

Homebound is also produced by Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra, while legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese serves as the executive producer of the film.
