Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut found herself at the receiving end of backlash on Monday after a video from her grievance redressal meet in her constituency Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, went viral. In the video, an 80-year-old man can be seen sitting at her feet and requesting her to solve his problems, and netizens found Kangana's response to him "arrogant".
Kangana recently held a public grievance redressal meet in Mandi to interact with the people of her constituency. In the viral video, she can be seen sitting with her party workers, and the 80-year-old man sat at her feet, asking her to help him.
Kangana responded to him, "Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is our Chief Minister and this is the CM's work to do, so you need to tell this to him. I cannot do anything about this issue." But the man did not budge, and he told her that she should raise his issue in the Parliament and help him by taking his grievance to the right person.
To that, Kangana assured him that she will help him connect with Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar.
Netizens slam Kangana Ranaut
However, the fact that the man kept requesting Kangana while sitting at her feet, and the BJP MP said that it was not her issue to resolve, did not go well with netizens.
"Politicians often forget they serve the people, not the other way around. This behavior shows a disconnect that voters remember," an X user commented under the video, while another wrote, "So much for public servant. Bowing before arrogance won’t get us far (sic)."
"Why is an 80 year old man sitting at the feet of this andpadh? This is so shameful! (sic)," another user stated.

When Kangana said she was not enjoying politics
It was only a few days ago, when Kangana admitted that she was not enjoying politics fully as social work has never been her background.
"I’ve fought for women’s rights, but that’s different... Somebody’s naali is broken, and I’m like, ‘But I am an MP and these people are coming to me with panchayat-level problems’. They don’t care. When they see you, they come to you with problems like broken roads, and I tell them that’s a state government issue, and they say, ‘You have money, you use your own money’," she shared.
"Social work has never been my background. I’ve lived a very selfish kind of life. I want to have a big house, a big car, I want to have diamonds. I want to look good. That’s the kind of life I’ve lived," she added.
