Nyra Banejee reacted to the viral video of Sara Afreen Khan kicking her at a Mumbai event, saying it was a playful moment between close friends. She clarified that she was briefly shocked but not upset. Nyra added, "As public figures humko koshish karenge ki thoda apna daayra rakhein—poori duniya mein dikhane ki zarurat nahi hai. We’ll be a little more normal."

Bigg Boss 18 contestants Nyra Banerjee and Sara Afreen Khan attended Ayesha Jhulka's food festival event in Mumbai on Friday evening (April 11). A video from the event went viral where Sara kicked Nyra to get her attention so she could join her and Alice Kaushik for a paparazzi photo. However, Sara’s action left Nyra visibly shocked and embarrassed. Alice and Sara burst into laughter after the kick, while Nyra kept her calm and was seen smiling awkwardly.
Now, on Saturday, Nyra broke her silence and defended Sara's action, saying that since they are good friends, they often tend to get playful with each other. Speaking to Instant Bollywood, the Divya Drishti actress said in Hindi, "Mujhe pata nahi tha aur main bas baatein kar rahi thi, par mujhe mehsoos hua ki kisi ne kuch toh kiya hai mere bum pe. Mere doston ki aadat hai maarne ki, toh mujhe laga Alica ya Sara ne maara hoga. Lekin main thodi si woh (shocked) ho gayi thi.
"Hum bohot gehre dost hain, uss chakkar mein kabhi-kabhi haath pair chooth jaate hain, aur hum bhool jaate hain ki hum public place mein hain," said the 37-year-old actress .
