Bigg Boss 18 contestants Sara Arfeen Khan and Nyra Banerjee made a joint appearance at an event in Mumbai on Friday evening (April 11). While the two posed together for the paparazzi, a moment captured on video has sparked backlash online.
In the now-viral clip, Sara is seen kicking Nyra playfully while the two were standing together for photos. After kicking her, Sara also gestured Nyra to move to the other side.
Though both laughed off the moment, Nyra appeared visibly uncomfortable and embarrassed immediately after the incident. A few others, including actress Alice Kaushik, were also present with them. Also, the awkward exchange hasn't gone unnoticed by social media users.
Netizens were quick to criticise Sara's behavior, calling it 'disrespectful' and 'inappropriate', especially in a public setting, while posing for paparazzi. While many acknowledged that the two actors are friends, they felt the gesture crossed a line.
Netizens slam Sara for kicking Nyra
As of now, neither Sara nor Nyra has reacted to the viral video publicly.
Lashing out at Sara, a user wrote on Instagram, "Even if they are friends, this is very very disrespectful... Nyra is clearly embarrassed... shame on Sara."
"Reaction was cute but the kick is not at all appropriate," wrote another user.
"Sara ko tameez nhi hai very bad Sara," another angry user commented.
"Sara behaves like she owns these women ! No basic ethics this woman has. She did the same nonsensical behavior inside the BB House with KV, Vivian, Avinash, Eisha, Shilpa & Diggy. I have zero respect for her," wrote another Instagram user.
A fifth user commented, "I understand the bond in the friendship, but in public and specially in front of camera it's disrespectful. Sorry but its true."
"Free world but no one has the right to kick an artist . So jealous . Plus what makes her giggle After such a wrong gesture," wrote another user, whereas another comment read, "That was quite disrespectful and am sure @nyra_banerjee was unaware about that."
While a user called Sara 'shameless', another commented, "Disrespectful and un classy !!! Understand it’s a friendship bond but somethings you don’t do it publicly.. She completely embarrassed her."
Sara nad Nyra share a close bond and they often spend time together. They also share pictures and videos from their outings on social media.
