'Girls Threw Undergarments At Us': Sudhanshu Pandey Says His A Band Of Boys Was Competition To The Backstreet Boys In India
Actor-singer Sudhanshu Pandey, who was recently seen in the reality show The Traitors, opened up on the popularity of his band, A Band Of Boys, back in the 2000s. "We were like competition for Backstreet Boys, an answer to them from India. We were the first ones to perform in a stadium....Girls threw their undergarments at us," he said.

Actor-singer Sudhanshu Pandey, who was recently seen in the reality show The Traitors, opened up on the popularity of his band, A Band Of Boys, back in the 2000s, and stated how it was a rage in India, equivalent to the Backstreet Boys. The actor also revealed how they were the first ones to perform in a stadium.
Sudhanshu, who was a part of the band from 2001 to 2005, recalled how women would throw their undergarments at them when they performed; such was the craze. "When A Band of Boys came, we became a rage. We were like competition for Backstreet Boys, an answer to them from India. Our songs were on the Grammy list," he told Zoom.
He went on to say, "We were the first ones to perform in a stadium, in front of 20,000 to 25,000 people. We performed when there were no mobiles. That was also a game changer. Girls threw their undergarments at us."

In 2024, post quitting the daily soap, Anupamaa, Sudhanshu announced his return to A Band Of Boys. It was in August when he sent millenials into a tizzy as he dropped the bomb on social media.
A Band Of Boys also released an official statement on his return which read, "We are absolutely elated to have Sudhanshu back with us. It’s been years since we performed together as a full band, and this reunion has truly brought back the memories of our early days."
Inspired by the The Backstreet Boys, A Band Of Boys has a number of hits to its credit, including Meri Neend, Gori, Tera Chehra, the album Gaane Bhi Do Yaaro, among others.
Sudhanshu Pandey In Anupamaa, The Traitors
Sudhanshu became a household name with the role of the evil Vanraj Shah in the daily soap Anupamaa, in which Rupali Ganguly plays the titular character. He was an integral part of the show from 2020, when it premiered, until he quit in 2024.
He was recently seen in the reality game show, The Traitors, in which he emerged to be one of the finalists in the Top 5 list. However, he was evicted from the show by the other contestants minutes before the winner announcement.
