Pakistani actress and TV presenter Nadia Khan has lauded Diljit Dosanjh and the makers of Sardaar Ji 3 for releasing the film with Hania Aamir despite protests in India. For those unversed, Diljit has been called out for collaborating with Pakistani star Hania and promoting the release of the film two months after Pahalgam terror attack.

A video has surfaced on social media in with Nadia is seen praising the makers for their decision to release the film. She called it an 'excellent' move and called Diljit the 'biggest' star in India.

During one of her shows, Nadia said, "The film (Sardaar Ji 3) is being released on the 27th of this month with Hania Aamir of Pakistan. Do whatever you want to do. He is a Sikh brother, all the producers are Sikh, all the actors are Sikh. Darte kisi se nahi hai. Excellent."

"I am amazed by their strategy. They did it silently. They didn't say anything. And after that, everyone thought that Hania has been removed from the film officially. Diljit was silent. And now when the trailer of Sardarji 3 has come, Hania Aamir is present in it. She is everywhere. And Diljit, who is their biggest star in India right now, the entire country is behind him," Nadia added.

"People in India are behind Diljit, they are calling him a traitor and there is a very strong reaction. But Diljit is ready to face any consequences. The film will be released. And I really want it to be released in Pakistan," she further mentioned.

Diljit Dosanjh called out in India

Soon after Diljit shared the trailer of Sardaar Ji 3 on his official Instagram account, he was slammed by a section of users. Netizens called him 'insensitive' and 'shameless' for working with Hania.

Recently, The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) demanded the immediate suspension of Diljit's social media accounts in India. The film body also called for a nationwide ban on his shows and concerts.

It also urged that no government or private institute should associate with the singer and that an investigation must be launched to check the funding of Sardaar Ji 3.

Producers issue clarification

In a statement released on June 24, the production team clarified, "This is to bring to everyone's kind notice that the film named, Sardaar Ji 3, was shot well before the prevailing situation that our country is facing now and it was never ever the case that any Pakistani artist was signed or was engaged after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam."

Addressing the growing criticism, the makers opened up about their respect for public sentiment and added, "We stand united with our country and our fellow countrymen during this sensitive time. Considering the same, we had decided not to release the film or any of its promotional content in India until the situation becomes opportune."
