Bhool Chuk Maaf Box Office Collection Day 1: Rajkummar Rao & Wamiqa Gabbi's Film Off To Decent Start, Earns ₹6.75 Crore

After much back and forth between a theatrical and OTT release, the Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer Bhool Chuk Maaf finally hit theatres on Friday, May 24, 2025. Directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the film got off to a decent start on Day 1. In comparison to Sooraj Pancholi and Suniel Shetty's Kesari Veer, which also released on the same day, Bhool Chuk Maaf has performed significantly better, earning Rs 6.75 crore on its opening day, whereas Kesari Veer managed only Rs 0.25 crore.

According to Sacnilk, Bhool Chuk Maaf recorded an overall 19.36% Hindi occupancy on Friday. The film was originally scheduled for a theatrical release on May 9. However, due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the makers announced a direct premiere on OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.

This decision was later reversed after PVR Cinemas filed a Rs 60 crore lawsuit against Maddock Films, citing significant financial losses caused by the abrupt cancellation of the theatrical release. Following this legal action, the makers opted to bring the film back to theatres.

Bhool Chuk Maaf, however, has performed better than Rajkummar's last theatrical release, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, co-starring Triptii Dimri, which had earned Rs 5 crore on its opening day.

Bhool Chuk Maaf also features Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Jay Thakkar, Raghubir Yadav, Ishtiyak Khan, and others.

The Free Press Journal has given Bhool Chuk Maaf 3 stars and wrote, "Bhool Chuk Maaf is an entertaining romantic-comedy. It is a fun light-hearted movie that you can watch it with your family and enjoy."
