Television actor Arjit Taneja reacted to actress Rhea Chakraborty and her family, including her brother Showik Chakraborty, receiving a clean chit from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the case of her then-boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput's, death, as the report concluded that no evidence of foul play was found after years of speculation and intense scrutiny.
On Sunday, Arjit commented on a media portal's Instagram page, slamming the media for ruining Rhea's reputation. He wrote, "Finally … but What they’ve done to Rhea is beyond forgiveness. Even if you fall to your knees and beg, it wouldn’t be enough to undo the damage."
The CBI investigated two separate cases filed in connection with Sushant's death—one by his father, KK Singh, with the Patna Police, accusing the actress of abetting his suicide and embezzling Rs 15 crore. The second was filed by Rhea in Bandra, alleging that Sushant's sisters had obtained a fake medical prescription from a Delhi doctor.
On Sunday, Dia criticized the media for engaging in a 'witch hunt' and questioned who would apologise to Rhea.
Taking to the official Instagram handle, Dia wrote, “Who in the media will have the grace to put out a written apology to Rhea Chakraborthy and her family? You went on a witch hunt. You caused deep anguish and harassment just for TRP's. Apologise. That's the very least you can do.” Tagging Rhea in the post, Dia added a red rose emoji alongside it.
After receiving a clean chit in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, Rhea's brother Showik posted an old video with Rhea on his Instagram story. This marked the first time he publicly spoke out following the recent legal developments.
He wrote, "Satyameva Jayate," along with a folded hands emoji.
Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty is yet to react.
