Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The High Court principal bench of Jabalpur on Monday stayed the order of Maharishi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan, Bhopal, which had mandated that only those students who had completed Class 9th or Class 11th from Sanskrit Board-affiliated schools would be eligible for admission in Classes 10th and 12th respectively.

Justice Vishal Dhagat stayed the operation of the order dated June 27, 2024, issued by the director of the Sanskrit Board.

Advocate Amrit Ruprah, appearing on behalf of the petitioner schools, voiced concerns of affected students who were pursuing their Class 10th and 12th studies in these institutions.

She highlighted that examination forms of students who had previously studied under the MP Board or CBSE were not being accepted. Stressing that MP Board, CBSE and the Sanskrit Board are all government bodies, advocate Ruprah argued that such discrimination was unjustified and arbitrary.

After considering her submissions, the court stayed operation of the impugned order and directed that examination forms of all students pursuing their Class 10th and 12th studies in the petitioner schools must be immediately processed to enable them to appear for their upcoming examinations.
