A new trend of re-releasing old films has started in Bollywood from the past couple of years. While some films are doing well at the box office, some are totally ignored by the audience. The recent re-release is Salman Khan and Aamir Khan starrer Andaz Apna Apna. The movie, which was originally released in 1994, was a flop at the box office then. However, over the years it has received a cult status. Now, during its re-release, the movie has taken a decent opening at the box office.
According to reports, Andaz Apna Apna on day one of its re-release collected Rs. 25 lakh. It is a decent number, but of course, everyone expected an opening of more than Rs. 1 crore because of Salman and Aamir’s star power.
However, if we look at the budget of the movie, it has surely taken a very good opening. In 1994, Andaz Apna Apna was reportedly made on a budget of Rs. 2.90 crore. So, an opening of Rs. 25 lakh is quite good. If the film shows a good jump on Saturday and Sunday, then we can expect that during its first weekend, it will collect around Rs. 1 crore.
Andaz Apna Apna Vs Karan Arjun Re-Release Box Office Collection
Well, even Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Karan Arjun collected the same amount at the box office on day 1. The Rakesh Roshan directorial minted Rs. 25 lakh. So, Andaz Apna Apna and Karan Arjun are currently in the same position during their re-release.
