Bollywood actor Aamir Khan skipped the special screening of his film Andaz Apna Apna, which re-released in theatres on Friday (April 25), because of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Reportedly, Aamir said he is badly affected by the attack which killed 26 innocent people and that he was not in the right state to attend the event.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Aamir said, "I was reading reports about what happened at Pahalgam in Kashmir. I have been badly affected by the senseless killing of innocents. I was in no state to attend the preview). I will see it sometime later this week."
Aamir and Salman Khan's 1994 cult comedy Andaz Apna Apna re-released in theatres. It also starred Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon.
Meanwhile, as a mark of respect and solidarity with the victims of Pahalgam attack and their families, the film fraternity has decided to cancel several film-related events.
On April 22, a horrific terrorist attack unfolded in broad daylight at a popular tourist spot in Pahalgam. According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants opened fire on unsuspecting tourists after reportedly questioning them about their religion.
The brutal assault claimed the lives of 26 individuals, including a local horse-rider who was shot while attempting to disarm one of the terrorists and protect the visitors.
The incident has sent shockwaves across the country, sparking widespread outrage and grief.
