Telugu actress Sri Reddy appeared before the Vizianagaram police on Saturday in connection with the controversy surrounding her objectionable videos against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and minister Nara Lokesh on social media.

According to reports, Sri had shared objectionable and derogatory videos targetting Naidu, Kalyan and Lokesh during the tenure of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. She even used vulgar language and obscene terms for the political leaders.

But after the Chandrababu Naidu government came to power, Sri changed her stance and issued a public apology, seeking forgiveness from the now-ruling party members. She also vowed to not make any political comments going ahead.

But despite her apology, Telugu Desam Party workers lodged a police complaint against her, and she was summoned by the police on Saturday. She has now promised complete cooperation with the cops.

Sri was grilled for around half an hour before being let go. She has been told that she could be called for interrogation again.

For those unversed, Sri is a renowned face in the Telugu entertainment industry, and she has been a part of several television shows and films. She marked her acting debut in 2011 with Nenu Naana Abaddam, directed by Govind Varha.

In 2013, she played the lead in Aravind 3. She will be next seen in the Telugu film, Zindagi, opposite Challa Sai Varun.

Sri made headlines in 2018 after she participated in a nude protest against sexual exploitation in Tollywood. The Movie Artistes Association (MAA) then banned Sri from the protest, and later, she alleged that she was assaulted in her Chennai residence by financier Subramani and his assistant Gopi.

Following the criticism of its decision, MAA revoked its ban on Sri and she was allowed to work in films again.
