The UPSC Mains 2024 exam was held from September 20 to 29, 2024, with 14,627 candidates appearing for the exam. This year, over 13.4 lakh candidates had participated in the UPSC Preliminary Exam held on June 16, 2024. The results of the Mains exam will play a crucial role in determining which candidates will proceed to the next stage of the selection process.
Those who clear the Mains exam will need to fill out the Detailed Application Form (DAF) to be eligible for the Personality Test (Interview). The schedule for the Personality Test will be announced separately by the commission.
The UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) is conducted for recruitment to prestigious services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS), among others. This year, UPSC will fill 1,056 vacancies across various departments.
