JEE Advanced 2025: Student Files Petition Over Technical Glitches, Lizard Disruption

A JEE Advanced 2025 candidate, held by IIT Kanpur on May 18, has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court claiming major disruptions in the exam. The student, Sanidhya Saluja, submitted the plea on behalf of his father, Sh. Sudhir Saluja, citing technical disturbances as well as disturbing situations at the centre of the examination.

As per the plea, the student's computer screen was blinking and very dim in the first shift (9 AM to 12 PM), and the questions could not be read clearly. Despite the technical glitch, the issue was reportedly not resolved during the exam.

During the second shift (2:30 PM to 5:30 PM), Saluja alleges that a large lizard kept coming into the exam area again and again, just adjacent to his computer terminal. Though invigilators took it out several times, it continued to return, and Saluja had fear and distraction throughout the session, according to the Bar and Bench report.

As a result of these circumstances, the student argues that he could not give his best, and has requested his JEE Main 2025 scores to be taken into account instead of his JEE Advanced scores.

The case is named "Sanidhya Saluja through his Natural Guardian (Father) Sh. Sudhir Saluja vs Union of India and Ors." As a response, notices were issued by Justice Vikas Mahajan to IIT Kanpur, the National Testing Agency (NTA), and the Central Government.

The report further states that the court ordered the respondents to file a brief affidavit setting out the regulations that guide the conduct of JEE Advanced. In the event that any aspect of the information is regarded as confidential by the authorities, it can be submitted in a sealed cover.
