Passport Seva Portal Down Across India: Appointments Cancelled, Users Face Long Delays
Applicants faced appointment cancellations, delays, and technical snags at passport centres. Users took to social media to express their disappointment and question the lack of clarity from Ministry of External Affairs.

The Passport Seva portal faced widespread server issues in India causing service disruptions across Passport Seva Kendras (PSK) in India. Applicants faced appointment cancellations, delays, and technical snags at passport centres. Users took to social media to express their disappointment and question the lack of clarity from Ministry of External Affairs.
Many users from cities like Bhopal, Mumbai, and Delhi took to X to report about appointment cancellations and delays. Rescheduling appointments was also a task due to technical snags and availability issues. Others report that the app was not working either.
Because of a server issue, all services at the PSK are non-functional. Users also claim that while rescheduling, dates aren’t available for the next few weeks and next available dates are showing for months later.
While a few users got a message for appointment cancellations, many were only informed of the outage after they reached the Kendra. "The passport seva kendra pasted a notice due to a technical issue unable to process a request. No SMS, email or phone call regarding this to applicant ...even people came to reach only after seva kendra. Gate is locked & no one is available," X user Vidya Nand Rai from Ghaziabad shared.
The Ministry of External Affairs or the official handle of Passport Seva have issued no statement regarding this outage yet.
