All the seven youths violated four girls, including three minors on the night of April 23 when they were returning home after attending a wedding ceremony.

The youth continued to rape the girls till 5am. When the incident came to light on April 24, the villagers held two Panchayats.

At the Panchayat, some villagers even offered money to the girls’ family to settle the issue. One of the girls insisted on going to the police station.

Superintendent of police Nagendra Singh said his purpose would be to file an application in the court for day-to-day hearing of the case. Because the case is highly sensitive, he is monitoring it, Singh said. The police are waiting for the FSL report, he said.
