Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A woman was raped by her brother-in-law (husband’s elder brother) three days after her marriage in January this year. Berasia police registered a case against the brother-in-law, the woman’s husband and two other relatives on Wednesday. Efforts are underway to arrest them, police said.
According to reports, the 20-year-old woman had a love marriage with a youth in January. In her complaint, the woman alleged that her husband’s elder brother raped her when she was alone at home three days after her marriage.
The woman informed her husband and her mother-in-law about the incident but the duo refused to believe and asked her to keep mum.

However, the accused again tried to rape and molest her after an interval of some months. The woman then fled from her husband’s home and approached police.
In another incident, a man raped a widow after symbolically marrying her under Sukhi Sewania police station. The 27-year-old woman claimed that her husband died two months back following which Arvind Jain promised her of marriage.
On April 19, Arvind applied ‘sindoor’ on her forehead and took her home. However, Arvind turned the woman out of the home after sexually exploiting her for 10 days. She approached police on Tuesday night and registered an FIR against Arvind, a private driver.
