WATCH: 'Terrorists' Bodies Will Not Be Buried On Indian Soil,' Announces All India Imam Organisation Chief Umar Ahmed Ilyasi

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): All India Imam Organisation Chief Umar Ahmed Ilyasi has made a strong statement against terrorism on Saturday. He declared that no funeral prayers will be held for terrorists who die in India, and they will not be buried on Indian soil.

The Chief Imam had arrived in MP's Gwalior for the wedding ceremony of Minister Pradhuman Singh Tomar's daughter.

Speaking to the media, Ilyasi also said that terrorist organisations should remove sacred words like ‘Islam’ and ‘Mohammad’ from their names, as their actions are against the true teachings of Islam.

Regarding ‘Love Jihad,’ Ilyasi stated that marriages that are open and accepted by society are blessed, while those that create disturbance should be avoided. He added that hiding one's name or identity to trap someone in a relationship is wrong, and the majority of people in society are good, only a few are bad.

Speaking about Balochistan, he said the Muslim community stands with India’s foreign policy. He mentioned that Pakistan has been unfair to Balochistan, and now is the time for its freedom, which he called a basic human right.

‘Terrorism has no religion’

When asked about a statement by a Shankaracharya who called Islam a religion of terrorism, Ilyasi responded strongly and said, "Terrorism has no religion. A terrorist is a devil, and should be treated like one."

Ilyasi also spoke on the population control law and said it is a national issue, and no one should oppose what is good for the country. He also spoke about the Waqf law, saying the matter is in court, but the government’s new changes seem to be better.

On questions raised by Rahul Gandhi about India-Pakistan relations, Ilyasi said, “I do not support any statement that goes against India’s policy.” He added that India is united. Since PM Modi came to power in 2014, the opposition has only been attacking, often without valid reason.

Ilyasi emphasised that unity is the only way to fight terrorism, and people should not raise questions that weaken the national resolve.
