Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A thief stole around 3 lakh after breaking into a famous temple in Chhatarpur on Friday.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV installed in the area, where the masked thief can be seen trying to open the donation box and stealing the money.

The incident is of the famous Nainagiri Jain pilgrimage site in Buxwaha, on Friday night. He stole the money from the donation box.
The theft happened at the Chaubeesi Jinalaya number 40.
According to reports, the thief entered the temple between 2 and 3 AM by cutting the locks with a grinder machine. He broke the lock of the secret donation storage and took away the cash. He also tried to break into Jinalaya number 37 but failed.
Hearing the sound of the grinder, the temple manager, assistant manager, and guards quickly responded. They sounded the alarm and raised a noise, which forced the thief to run away.

On Saturday, police officers including Buxwaha Station In-charge Sunita Bindua, Superintendent of Police Agam Jain, and Baramalhara SDOP Rohit Alava reached the spot. The police started their investigation with help from a dog squad. CCTV footage also captured the thief's actions.
Trust committee president and retired IAS officer Suresh Jain met DGP and Chief Secretary Anurag Jain in Bhopal to request a strict and detailed investigation. Santosh Kumar Jain Ghadi from the Jain Tirth Committee also requested quick action.
Reward of 21k

SP Agam Jain said that different teams have been formed for the investigation and the case will be solved soon.
It is important to note that thefts have happened at this temple in 2012, 2016, 2021, 2022, and 2023 as well.
This has raised concerns that the temple and its religious heritage are being targeted again and again.
