Shivpuri (Madhya Pradesh): A massive fire broke out in the agricultural fields of Edwara village in Rannod tehsil of Shivpuri district on Wednesday. The fire destroyed crops spread across hundreds of bighas of land.
A firefighter reportedly sustained injuries while making efforts to douse off the fire. The farmers have faced a huge crisis of fodder to feed their cattle.
The fire reportedly started in the field of a farmer named Ramveer Yadav due to a short circuit in an electric line. It quickly spread to nearby fields, engulfing dry stubble and burning crops to ashes.
The horrifying visulas of the incident have also surfaced on social media.

Upon receiving information, villagers rushed to control the fire and informed the fire brigade. However, by the time the flames were brought under control, significant damage had already been done.
Irrigation pipes burnt
Around 150 bighas of plastic irrigation pipes kept in Ramveer Yadav’s field were completely destroyed. Additionally, farmer Gopal Yadav lost 10 trolley loads of fodder in the fire.
Firefighter injured
During the firefighting efforts, Devendra Yadav was injured. He reportedly fell while climbing onto a fire brigade vehicle, resulting in fractures in both legs.
The incident has caused a serious fodder crisis in the village, as many farmers have lost their stored feed for cattle.
