Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): An aggressive buffalo trampled a 70-year-old man to death while he was feeding the cattle in a dairy in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur, as reported by police on Monday.
The tragic incident was captured in a CCTV camera installed in the dairy, examining which Additional SP Suryakant Sharma suspected the scorching weather as a reason to make the cattle become aggressive.
According to information, the incident occurred at Prayag Dairy located in village Pariyat under Panagar police station area of Jabalpur district.
Here, the victim and elderly Prakashchandra Tiwari had reached the dairy to feed the buffaloes as usual.
Succumbed during treatment
As he put the fodder before the cattle, a buffalo suddenly attacked him from behind. The buffalo threw him on the ground and started crushing him badly with its feet. The buffalo kept attacking the old man continuously for about 3 minutes and 41 seconds.
The dairy staff rushed to Tiwari’s rescue and took him to a private hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
When the family got this sad news, a wave of mourning ran through the entire village.

Regarding the incident, Additional SP Sharma said that preliminary investigation has revealed the nature of animals becomes aggressive in the summer season, which is believed to be the main reason for this incident.
Due to increasing heat, animals become irritable and violent, which increases the possibility of such accidents. Police have registered a case after taking the family's statements and initiated investigating from every aspect on the basis of CCTV footage.
Deceased’s family demanded the dairy management strengthen the security arrangements to avoid such incidents in future.
This incident underscores that animals need special care during summer season. Dairy operators and cattle keepers should keep a vigilant eye on the behavioral changes of animals to prevent any such mishap.
