Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Getting a passport has now become easier for students, staff, and the general public at Bhopal’s Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT).
A Passport Seva Project (PSP) Van, sent by the Regional Passport Office in Bhopal has been stationed on the MANIT campus.
The van will provide passport-related services for one month and is located in the Faculty Guest House area of the campus.
Based on demand and public participation, the service period may be extended further.
This initiative aims to help students complete passport formalities easily for opportunities like internships, higher education, or jobs abroad. It will also help them save time and travel expenses.
MANIT administration has encouraged all students, faculty, and staff to make the most of this convenient service.

This service is being offered at MANIT, an institute of national importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Passport procedure in India
To get a passport in India, applicants must first register on the official Passport Seva website and fill application form online.
After paying the fee, one can book an appointment at the nearest Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK).
On the day of the appointment, they must carry original documents and self-attached copies for verification.
At the center, their photo, fingerprints, and signature are taken.
After this, a police verification is conducted at the applicant’s residence.
After the verification is completed, the passport is printed and delivered to the applicant’s address by post.
The process usually takes 7-15 working days and Tatkal service delivers passports within 1-3 days.
