Datia (Madhya Pradesh): A newly married woman allegedly ended her life by hanging herself after her husband refused to let her visit her parental home on the day of Raksha Bandhan, as reported by police.
According to information, the incident took place in Dohar village under Indergarh police station limits. Police have registered a case and started further investigation.
The deceased was identified as Mamta and was married around 13 months ago to Surendra, a resident of Dohar.
Her brother, Kamal Kishore Jatav and a resident of Papredu in Shivpuri district, said that about ₹5 lakh was given as dowry at the time of marriage.
