Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): School education Minister Rao Uday Pratap Singh has said that NCERT books will be made compulsory in all schools of Madhya Pradesh.
He said that it has an authentic syllabus and its price is also low. Singh was speaking in Gadarwara on Saturday. He said that this step is being taken under the new education policy.
CBSE affiliated schools will be allowed to include some local level books according to their prescribed criteria. It, however, will be mandatory for these schools to use NCERT books as well.
Singh said that efforts are being made to implement the new education policy under the leadership of the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister. And whatever can be maintained at the local level in the prescribed standards for a CBSE school, Singh added.
