Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): An 8-month-old baby died after he swallowed a balloon while playing in MP’s Shivpuri. The balloon got stuck in his windpipe, choking him to death.
The family had to run between hospitals to get the child treated, before finally being referred to Shivpuri medical college. The doctors finally removed the balloon from the baby's windpipe; unfortunately it was too late.

The deceased has been identified as Dhanu Soni, 8-month-old son of Sanjay Soni-- a resident of New Bus Stand area. The doctors immediately started treatment in the medical college. They removed the balloon from the child's windpipe. But, the child died due to lack of oxygen for a long time.
The entire family is devastated by the death of the innocent child. Medical College Dean Dr. D. Paramhans said that the child was brought late. If he had been brought on time, his life could have been saved.

According to the information this is not the first incident, many such incidents have come to the fore where innocent children swallow small coins or small items like balloons in their mouths, which get stuck in the throat.
In such a situation one should immediately visit the doctor, as it chokes the windpipe, leading to decreased breathing rate. This can prove fatal for the victim.
