Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): State police headquarters is brainstorming about a question, in which it is asked about the reserved post for women for the post of sub-inspector (SI) and how many are posted against them.

The Assembly monsoon session is going to begin from July 28 and the MLAs had submitted several questions to the Assembly and the departments are preparing answers for that.

The last recruitment for the post of SI was done in the year 2017-18. Since then no recruitment was done, the officials said. One of the MLAs has asked that how many women are appointed on the post of SI against the reserved posts.

Sources claimed that the department is not having the perfect answer to the question, as there is no such collection of data, which can be put in reply. The administration, planning, women safety, selection and recruitment wing are the departments searching for the answer, but till now no concrete answer had been prepared.

One of the officers claimed that there was no certain reservation for the post of SI, that how many posts shall be reserved for women. Whereas in direct recruitment, there is provision of reservation. But the post is also filled with promotions from ASI to SI and it is not having reservation brackets.

The department is also trying to find out that how many women officers are working across the state in the post. So they can add it in their answer.

500 posts for SI

PHQ and Employee Selection Board is to begin the recruitment process of 8,500 posts of different ranks in the police department. On 500 posts the SIs will be recruited. The director of ESB, Sanket Malvia told Free Press, ‘ESB’s work is to organise exam and to select candidates on rules and regulations set by the particular department.’
