MP July 15 Weather Updates: Heavy Rain Alert For 17 Districts; Flood-Like Situation In Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol & Other Districts | Representative image
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): It has been raining continuously for a week in many districts of Madhya Pradesh including Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol, Sagar, Mandla, Sheopur, Seoni, Umaria, Chhatarpur. Due to this, there are flood-like conditions in these districts.
On Monday, many areas and villages of Sheopur were surrounded by water. Water filled in houses, shops and even hospitals. At the same time, the Narmada river remained above the danger mark. There is a warning of heavy rain in 17 districts on Tuesday as well.
Amid the flood like situation in Deori village of Chhatarpur district, SDERF team and a doctor reached where they treated Women and children and medicines were distributed.
Monsoon entered the state on June 16. Since then, there has been a period of heavy rain. Due to this, half of the quota i.e. an average of 18 inches of rain has already occurred.
In Niwari, up to 103% water has fallen. In Mandla, Tikamgarh also, the rain quota has been full up to 75%. The period of heavy rain will continue for the next 4 days i.e. till July 18.
Due to continuous rains in Gwalior Chambal region, flood like situation has arisen. All the rivers of the region are in spate and flowing above the danger mark.
There are many villages which have lost connectivity and the gates are being opened due to the dams of the region being full. Three gates of Gwalior Tighra reservoir were opened. 6 gates of Atal Sagar Madikheda Dam have been opened.

On Monday, Mandla received 2 inches of rain in 9 hours. At the same time, one and a half inches of water fell in Khargone. Half an inch of rain was recorded in Tikamgarh-Umaria.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain continued in many districts including Bhopal, Datia, Guna, Gwalior, Indore, Ratlam, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Ujjain, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Khajuraho, Sagar, Seoni, Sidhi, Balaghat, Sehore, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Dewas, Rajgarh, Vidisha.
The water level of Atal Sagar Madikheda Dam in Shivpuri district increased rapidly. Due to this, 6 gates of the dam were opened at 6:30 am on Monday. About 1500 cumec of water has been released.
The road leading to Agra was closed due to the rising water level of the Kwari river in Vijaypur of Sheopur district. At the same time, there were flood-like conditions in Baroda.
Apart from shops and houses, hospitals were also flooded. Rain has also affected life in Rannaud area of Shivpuri district. Many people's houses were flooded here. A house collapsed in Tikamgarh. Three buffaloes died due to this.
In Mandla, water entered houses and shops due to half an hour of heavy rain. A mud rally was held in Raisen amidst overflowing drains. Vehicles were driven in it. There was a spell of heavy rain in Bhopal in the afternoon.
