Excise Department Gears Up To Crackdown On Illegal Taverns Near Liquor Shops in Jabalpur, Instructs To Provide Bill | AI Generated
Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): The Excise Department is preparing to charge up and take action against Taverns or 'ahatas' (drinking spaces) that operate illegally near liquor shops in Jabalpur.
These Taverns are gradually becoming hub of open gatherings for alcohol. Consumers drink alcohol openly in such Taverns and create chaos, causing inconvenience to the general public.
They sell liquor beyond permissible hours
According to a senior official in Excise Department, the department has received complaints of selling liquor at a rate higher than the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) and beyond permissible hours. In the wake of these complaints the department is set to inspect and verify the allegations and further take strict action against such Taverns.
Excise departments has instructed to provide bills
The Excise staff has clearly instructed the shop operators to display the approved rate list and issue bills to the customers. Action will be taken against shop operators who do not follow the instructions, the department warned.
