Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur police have solved the major robbery case of ₹61 lakh in cash from a cash van reported on Independence Day.
To everyone’s surprise, the complainant himself turned out to be the mastermind.
Notably, on Friday, Manish Ahirwar - an ATM franchise operator for Hitachi company - filed a report at Gaurihar police station claiming that unknown accused looted ₹61 lakh in cash while it was being transported to ATMs.
Given the seriousness, police set up checkpoints in the area and launched an investigation with cyber and technical support.
During the investigation, police found Manish himself to be the culprit. Evidence revealed that he, along with his brother Pushpendra, staged the robbery so they could fraudulently claim insurance.
According to the plan, money was withdrawn from Mahoba Axis Bank to load into ATMs. On the way, accomplices Pradeep and Ravi, riding a motorcycle, stopped the vehicle at gunpoint and fled with the cash bag.
