Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A major robbery incident was reported in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh, where miscreants looted ₹61.17 lakh at gunpoint.
The incident took place near Sichhari Tigailla under the Gaurihar police station limits.
According to the reports, two unidentified assailants arrived on a motorcycle and intercepted a four-wheeler vehicle carrying the cash. They held the occupants at gunpoint with a country-made pistol and fled with the cash.
The victims informed that they were transporting cash from Mahoba to be deposited in an ATM located in Sarbai. As they reached the area near Sichhari Tigailla, the robbers blocked their way and committed the daylight robbery.
Soon after receiving information about the incident, police teams from Lavkushnagar and Jujharnagar police stations reached the spot. Both station in-charges began investigation and launched a search operation to find the culprits.
The act has raised serious concerns over security arrangements during cash transportation.
14 kg gold, ₹5 Lakh cash looted at gunpoint in Jabalpur
In a similar case, a daylight heist was reported at a private finance bank, where a group of armed miscreants allegedly looted over 14 kg of gold along with ₹5 lakh in cash.
According to police sources, the accused stormed into the bank and held staff at gunpoint before executing the robbery. The incident occurred in daylight which raised serious questions about security arrangements at the institution.
