Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): The police busted a prostitution racket in a hotel situated in Vijay Nagar locality of the city. In a joint operation conducted late Wednesday night, teams from Lordganj and Mahila Thana police raided Hotel Velvet Inn in Vijay Nagar, uncovering a prostitution racket.
The raid led to the arrest of Pradeep Mishra, the hotel owner, and Jeevan Pandey, a customer, along with three women found in objectionable constitution. All individuals have been booked under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
According to the police, complaints were received about illegal activities going on in the hotel. As the police team arrived, hotel staff attempted to hide and flee. The hotel owner tried to obstruct the investigation, but police thoroughly searched each room.
