Madhya Pradesh: High Court Seeks MPPSC Reply On Alleged Manipulation |
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The principal bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur has ordered MP Public Service Commission (MPPSC) to submit reply over alleged manipulation of the backlog OBC posts reserved for assistant professors.
The case was heard in the case of Justice MS Bhatti. The OBC candidates have filed a petition, challenging the manipulation of the backlog of OBC posts by MPPSC.
The petition has challenged the constitutionality of the advertisement published by MPPSC, dated December 30, 2024. The advertisement mentioned backlog of 31 OBC posts in English subject before 2019.
On December 30, 2022, the Commission had advertised 200 posts of assistant professor in English subject, the appointment process for which is currently underway.

There is no mention of backlog posts of OBC category in the said advertisement. The petitioners had appeared in the said recruitment examination but were not recruited due to different reasons.
Senior advocate Rameshwar Singh Thakur, the counsel for petitioners, said, “Supreme Court has made it clear that the vacant backlog posts will be filled in upcoming recruitment from the same category for which the post is vacant.
MPPSC should have filled the posts vacant before 2019 while making recruitment in 2022 but the Commission advertised again in 2024 by manipulating OBC posts.”
