Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A few UPSC applicants from Jhansi were prohibited from entering the exam center in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior on Sunday for being just 5 minutes late.
Heartbroken, one of the aspirants said, “These 5 minutes have ruined my entire future. A whole year of preparation is now wasted”
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted the Civil Services Preliminary Examination across the country on Sunday.

In Gwalior, 30 exam centers were set up, where 8,509 candidates appeared for the exam. The test was conducted in two shifts.
Candidates started arriving at the centers from 8 am for the first shift. Entry to the exam halls was strictly closed by 9 am.
Security checking was done thoroughly at the entrance. As per UPSC guidelines, candidates were not allowed to bring any electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, handbags, or even bracelets.
Those who carried a clear copy of their admit card, one photo, and a valid ID proof were allowed entry without any problem.

Expensive items are not allowed inside the exam center, such as necklaces, earrings, chains, jewelry, etc.
No type of bag or handbag is allowed inside the center.
Carrying a mobile phone inside the exam center is strictly prohibited.
Digital devices like smartwatches are not allowed.
No study material of any kind, such as notes or books, is allowed inside.
To ensure smooth conduct of the exam in Gwalior, Joint Collector Devki Nandan Singh was appointed as the exam in-charge and nodal officer. UPSC also assigned Sector Officer Himanshu Kumar as an observer.
