Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): BSc Nursing students started an indefinite hunger strike in Jabalpur's Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College on Friday against administration’s inaction in providing them jobs.
A video of the protest has surfaced on social media, showing students sitting. The students claimed they made several visits with their grievances, but no action was taken.

According to reports, enraged students sitting on hunger strike in the college campus are raising slogans against then college dean alleging that despite completing their degrees, they remain unemployed due to the five-year mandatory service bond, which refrains them from working anywhere else.
“We have made several visits to Bhopal with our problems, but no concrete steps have been taken. We are struggling financially and mentally now” said one of the protesting students. 29 students reportedly participated in the sit-in.
The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) extended their support to the protesting students and staged a sit-in also demonstrated in support of the students, demanding immediate job placements.
