Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): An ‘MMS’ scandal was reported from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design & Manufacturing in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur, where a female student was accused of filming her fellow students while bathing.
It is also alleged that she had confessed to sending those videos to her boyfriend in Delhi, as reported by police on Monday.
The revelation sparked a huge protest by IIITDM students at the campus. Furious over the matter, the students reached Dumna police station on Monday and lodged a complaint.
Students also alleged that their videos are being made viral.
Police have registered an FIR on the matter and have started investigating the matter.
What was the matter?
According to information, the B.Tech CSC second year student used to film her senior female students while bathing in the hostel. She then sent the videos to her boyfriends living in Delhi.
After the matter came to light, the college took immediate action, detained the accused student and started interrogation.
College forms investigation committee
The hostel warden has identified the girl who committed the crime. The director has formed a high-level investigation committee, which includes 4 people. Keeping the sensitivity of the matter in mind, police are waiting for the investigation results before giving any statements.
On receiving the information, the police immediately reached the spot and questioned the college management. According to the management, they got information about this incident on Sunday itself, after which they were conducting an internal investigation.
2 mobile phones and a laptop have been recovered from the accused student. The whole situation will be clear only after investigation.
Police assured strict action will be taken on the basis of the findings of investigation.
