Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The traffic police have formed nine sectors on the VIP route from Airport to Raj Bhawan which will be used by the Prime Minister’s cavalcade and other VIPs during Global Investors Summit (GIS). The route has been divided into nine sectors for better traffic management and enforcement of diversions which will be in place following arrival of Prime Minister and other VIPs, traffic officials said.
Additional DCP Traffic (North) Basant Kumar Kaul said the sectors will be under the supervision of seven senior traffic officials who will ensure that VIP routes remain clear and safe during arrival of the Prime Minister and other VIP guests. They will be responsible for implementation of traffic diversions, he added.
Traffic officials further said that guests will be lodged at Hotel Taj, Mariott, Radisson and other hotels in the city. Guests will be taken to the programme venue from the parking lot in e-buses.
Moreover, traffic police have also planned arrangements as delegations will visit Bhimbetka, Bhojpur, Sanchi, Shaurya Smarak and other places in and around Bhopal.
It is worth mentioning that around 1200 traffic cops will be deployed during GIS who will ensure smooth traffic movement and will enforce diversions. Eight parking lots have been provided for large number of vehicles that will arrive in the city during the summit.
Around 500 CCTV cameras to monitor
Around 500 additional CCTV cameras will keep a strict watch at every corner of the programme venue and other places to be visited by the Prime Minister and other VIP guests.
Commissioner of Police Bhopal Harinarayanachari Mishra said that additional CCTVs will cover each and every spot. Moreover, anti-drone technology will be used to ensure foolproof security of VVIPs and other guests, he added.
