Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had a one-to-one interaction with participants of Youth Parliament held by Yuva Morcha here on Friday. CM asked participants to tell one thing which was worse in emergency that was imposed by former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi in 1975. He also asked them what was the need to discuss about emergency after 50 years.
Many participants said that freedom of speech was snatched and leaders were put behind bars. Along with this, some participants said that forceful sterilisation was done during emergency and it was the worst thing to happen.
The participants were anxious to answer questions asked by CM. They said that there is need to discuss on emergency so that governments should not commit such mistakes which was done by the then Congress government.
He took on Congress for levelling allegations against Modi government in the wake of various cases slapped against its leaders. He said that Congress cry foul when it loses the election and points fingers against EVMs but don’t do the same when it wins the election in any region.
He said that if today there have been emergency then there would not have been internet, social media and newspapers. On this occasion, BJP State President VD Sharma exhorted educated youths to join politics by saying that if good people will not join politics then thieves and hooligans would enjoy power.
