Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday revoked the boating permissions of two operators at Karishma Park on Lower Lake for violating terms and conditions.
The BMC removed illegal cafe kiosk and also seized their boats including motorboats. Operators Mohammad Bilal and Karan Yadav had permission to run only paddle and row boats.
However, during an inspection by Lake Conservation Cell, it was found that they were illegally operating motorboats, which are prohibited in the lake area.

Additionally, unauthorised cafes and restaurants had been set up by encroaching on Karishma Park and the nearby Ramsar Site. These were reportedly operating till late night without official approval. Acting swiftly, the BMC removed all tables, benches, kiosks and the seized motorboats.
Municipal commissioner Harendra Narayan led the operation, following which enforcement teams carried out the eviction in a major crackdown on unauthorised activities. The civic body has now designated the park as a protected area, open to public only from 6 am to 7 pm.
