Katni (Madhya Pradesh): A fake Facebook profile pretending to be Katni Collector Dilip Kumar Yadav (IAS) has surfaced on social media, attempting to mislead and contact people using his name.
According to information, the impersonator is using the collector’s name and photo to create a deceptive profile and approach individuals online.
In response, Collector Dilip Kumar Yadav has informed Superintendent of Police Abhinay Vishwakarma and instructed that appropriate legal action be taken through the cyber cell.
The collector has also issued a public warning, urging citizens to remain cautious and not fall prey to any messages or requests from the fake account. Authorities are currently investigating the matter.
Collector’s appeal to the public
The collector said that someone has created this fake Facebook ID by misusing my name and photo. This ID is completely fake and fraud practices can also be attempted through it.
To protect the general public from fraud, collector has made an appeal to never accept the friend request sent from this fake account and to not engage in any kind of transaction.

The cyber cell of the police department has corresponded with Facebook's California USA office to remove the fake Facebook account created under the name of the collector.
Creating a fake Facebook profile or any other fake social media profile is a serious crime and there is a provision for strict punishment against those who misuse it.
Under Section 66 (C) of the IT Act 2000, the accused can be sentenced to imprisonment if found guilty of this crime.
