Bhopal's Artist Painting On Prime Minister Narendra Modi Enters World Book Of Records
Senior painter Raj Saini paints the 200 ft oil artwork depicting the expressions of Narendra Modi in two years

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A two-hundred-feet painting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, made by senior artist Raj Saini from Bhopal, was registered in the World Book of Records, London.
He has been included for creating the biggest painting by one artist on one canvas of one character within two years, from September 17, 2017 to September 16, 2019, depicting the expressions of the Prime Minister, created using oil colours on a 200 ft x 5 ft canvas displayed at Jawahar Bal Bhawan, Bhopal.
This honour was given to Saini by former Himachal Pradesh Governor Kalraj Mishra, former Governor Justice Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje, Padma Shri recipient and bhajan singer Anup Jalota, MP Shankar Lalwani, and Special DG Varun Kapoor in the World Book of Records ceremony held in Indore recently.
About how his work was selected for the record, Saini said that about two years ago he got information about the World Book of Records, London, and he registered for the painting. From time to time, the team members confirmed all the information sent by him, and after that, a total of 100 artists from different countries were selected. “I was selected in the category of making the longest painting in India,” he said.
“I decided to make this painting in the year 2014, themed on the different moods of Narendra Modi, including the Prime Minister's visits to various countries, meetings with eminent personalities, working style, historical decisions, etc., and gave them shape on the canvas through colour and brush,” Saini said.
Saini, who has been active in the field of art for more than four decades, has so far prepared portraits of many eminent personalities of the country, including legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar, superstar Amitabh Bachchan, etc.
