Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Cops are yet to arrest the three culprits involved in the brutal murder of a 22-year-old law student who was stabbed to death outside a petrol pump near Minal Gate No 3 in Ayodhya Nagar, in the wee hours on Wednesday. Police have identified one of the assailants as Sanju.
The assailants are residents of Nishatpura and Chhola Mandir area and have past criminal records. In-charge at Ayodhya Nagar police station Mahesh Lilhare said multiple police teams are hunting for the accused with the help of surveillance and CCTV footages.
It is suspected that the trio has left the city after the incident, he said while adding that police are close on their heels and will soon nab them.
According to reports, hailing from Bina, Sanskar Baghele was in fourth year of BA LLB from a private college in Indore and had come to Bhopal for a visit. Sanskar was staying with a friend, Anmol Dubey in Ayodhya Nagar area.
On Wednesday morning around 5 am, the duo left for the railway station and stopped at a nearby petrol pump to refuel their bike. Meanwhile, three men arrived on another bike and began pressuring the petrol pump staff to fill their vehicle first. When Sanskar and Anmol objected, a verbal spat ensued, which soon turned violent as the men attacked them.
One of the assailants pulled out a knife and stabbed him twice. Anmol rushed the severely injured Sanskar to hospital, where he was declared dead during treatment.
Sanskar was the only son
Autopsy report of Sanskar revealed that he was stabbed in the abdomen and even near his eye by the assailants. Sanskar’s father is a teacher at Bina and he was the only son. Sanskar had planned to leave for Bina to meet his sister on ‘rakhi’. Sanskar’s father and aggrieved family members received his body after autopsy on Thursday.
