Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A Lokayukta inquiry is underway into a complaint raised against former Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh and CEO of the Livelihood Mission, Lalit Mohan Belwal, over an alleged ₹500 crore scam linked to nutrition and related schemes, the government said on Tuesday.
The complainant has been summoned on August 12 along with all the evidence in the case, it said in its reply to a legislator’s question.
Congress MLA Pratap Grewal, who had raised a question regarding the number of registered cases, those under investigation, and the FIRs registered in LokayuktaPolice, pointedly sought to know the progress in the above case.
Acting on former MLA Paras Saklecha’s complaint, the Lokayukta Police began an investigation in the case in March this year, he said.

The MLA claimed that the government's reply reflects that there has been a drop in the number of complaints to the Lokayukta because of the delay in redressal.
There were 5,508 complaints in 2019-2020 and 4,899 in the Corona period of 2020-2021. In 2024-2025, only 4,225 complaints were received.
In 2019, criminal cases were registered in 244 cases of bribery, while in 2024, the number dropped to 196.
