Bhopal: 'Depressed' Jehan-Numa Hotel Chairman Nadir Rashid Shoots Self; US Consulate Condoles His Death
More details are awaited in the case, which shall come to fore after probe, they said.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chairman of Bhopal-based five-star hotel Jehan Numa Palace, Nadir Rashid, shot himself to death at his house in Shyamala Hills locality in the early hours of Monday, the police said.
According to information, 72-year-old Rashid was suffering from depression and thus, took the extreme step at his house.
Took the extreme step due to depression: Zafar
Zafar Rasheed, Nadir’s younger son, told Free press that Nadir had slid into depression six months ago, and was on heavy dose of medicines. He was troubled due to his mental health woes and thus took the extreme step. Zafar however, refrained from disclosing the cause of depression.
Nadir’s wife’s condition deteriorating: Family doctor
Nadir’s family doctor, Dr Moiz Hussain was called to the house a few hours after the incident, as Soniya, Nadir’s wife began feeling unwell, as she was not able to bear the torment. Dr Hussain said he has given medicines to her.
Was fond of golf, was full of life: Shyamala hills police station SHO
Shyamala hills police station house officer (SHO) Ramvilas Vimal, after the probe ended, told Free Press that prior to depression, Nadir was full of life. He regularly used to go to play golf. After he slid into depression, his social circle had shrunk too, and he was suffering from other diseases apart from depression, such as Thyroid and High Blood pressure.
Process of depositing arms at the police station was underway: Bhopal CP
When Free press questioned the commissioner of police (CP) of Bhopal, Harinarayanachari Mishra, regarding how Nadir shot himself when the model code of conduct was in force and every person possessing arms was required to deposit it at the police station, he said he had already applied at the Shyamala hills police station for the deposition of his rifle, and the process was underway.
