WATCH: Woman Gives Birth To Baby On Streets Of Bangkok After Hospital Evacuated Following Strong Tremors

A woman gave birth to a baby on a street after a hospital in Bangkok was evacuated due to a massive earthquake that struck Myanmar and parts of Thailand on Friday.

Bangkok: A woman gave birth to a baby on a street after a hospital in Bangkok was evacuated due to a massive earthquake that struck Myanmar and parts of Thailand on Friday. The incident was recorded on camera. The dramatic visuals when the baby was born amid the destruction caused by the earthquake surfaced online and soon went viral.

The woman gave birth on a hospital stretcher. In the video, it could be seen that the hospital staff was surrounding the mother and assisted the woman in giving birth. After the massive earthquake, patients from King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital and BNH Hospital were evacuated to a nearby park, reported BBC. Doctors and nurses treated the patients outside the buildings.

On Friday, a series of earthquakes jolted Myanmar and strong tremors were also felt in Thailand. The biggest of them was of 7.7 magnitude and its epicenter was reportedly near Sagaing in central Myanmar.

Meanwhile, the rose to 1,000 in Myanmar after six earthquakes struck Myanmar. According to reports, over 2,000 people were also injured. Aftershocks followed the massive earthquake. One of them was reportedly of magnitude 6.4.

Myanmar junta chief Min Aung Hlaing warned the number of casualties was likely to rise. He had also declared an 'emergency'. Mandalay was the worst affected city in Myanmar.

Tremors were also felt in Thailand. Metro and rail services were suspended in Thailand due to tremors. Around 10 people were reportedly dead, while 16 others were injured and 101 others were missing at three construction sites in Thailand's capital Bangkok, including the collapse of a 30-storey government building, according to Bangkok Deputy Governor Tavida Kamolvej, Bangkok Post reported.

Under-Construction Building Collapsed In Bangkok:

Pasakorn Boonyalak, director-general of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, said the earthquake caused damage in Bangkok and 10 other provinces, including Chiang Rai, Phrae, Mae Hong Son, Lampang, Chai Nat, Lamphun, Loei, Samut Sakhon, Chiang Mai, and Kamphaeng Phet.
