Two conflicting White House menu cards have gone viral on social media following US President Donald Trump's high-profile luncheon with Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir on June 18. While one menu claims the entire meal was halal, the other lists multiple pork dishes. However, the authenticity of both menu cards remains unverified.

The first widely shared menu, dated June 18, mentioned that all food served was halal. It featured a goat cheese gateau as the starter, followed by rack of spring lamb with jambalaya, and ended with a nectarine tart and crème fraîche ice cream. A clear label at the bottom read, “ALL FOOD IS HALAL – HOSTED BY PRESIDENT DONALD J TRUMP.”

In contrast, another menu that surfaced shortly after lists three separate pork-based courses, including boast pork tenderloin, braised pork shoulder, and a pork-less vegetarian option. This version ends with a bittersweet chocolate torte and is marked “ALL FOOD IS NON-HALAL.”

Here's What Trump Said About His Meeting With Munir

The luncheon, held in the White House Cabinet Room, marked an unprecedented occasion, as never before has a US President hosted a Pakistani Army Chief without any senior civilian leadership from Pakistan. “Reason I had him here was I wanted to thank him for not going into the war and ending it,” Trump said, referring to the ceasefire reached between India and Pakistan on May 10.

He also praised PM Modi, who he spoke to the night before. “Two very smart people decided not to keep going with that war; that could have been a nuclear war,” he said.

Have a look at his entire statement here:

The White House earlier said that Trump agreed to host Munir after the latter suggested the US President be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for preventing a nuclear conflict. Trump also claimed the two discussed Iran extensively, calling Pakistan’s insight on Tehran “better than most.”

PM Modi, however, clarified that no trade deals or mediation discussions took place during his call with Trump.
