An Aurus limousine, one of Russian President Vladimir Putin's official fleet of cars, exploded near Moscow’s FSB headquarters, catching fire. A video of the incident has surfaced online, causing a buzz on social media about a possible assassination attempt on him.

Immediately after the explosion, passersby rushed to douse the fire before emergency services arrived.

The incident reportedly occurred near the FSB secret service headquarters in Lubyanka. It has been claimed that the vehicle is worth £275,000.

The video of the incident shows the fire engulfing the engine before spreading throughout the interior of the vehicle.

According to reports, the vehicle belongs to the Presidential Property Department, which is responsible for the president’s transport. It has not yet been ascertained if anyone was inside the vehicle when the fire erupted.

Notably, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently made a bold statement suggesting that Russian President Vladimir Putin "will die soon" and that his death could potentially end the ongoing conflict between the two nations. These remarks were made during an interview with European journalists in Paris on March 26, as reported by The Kyiv Independent, and come amid persistent speculation about Putin's health.

The Russia-Ukraine conflict, which began with Russia's invasion in February 2022, continues to rage on. Russia currently occupies approximately 113,000 square kilometers—about 20% of Ukrainian territory—with intense fighting occurring along a 1,000-kilometer frontline.

The war has escalated through various means, with Russia targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure using missiles and drones, while Ukraine has responded by striking Russian oil and gas facilities.

This statement from Zelensky represents one of his most direct comments regarding Putin's mortality and its potential impact on resolving the conflict that has now lasted for over three years.
