US President Donald Trump has called for an immediate ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia, drawing parallels to the past conflict between India and Pakistan, which he claimed was "successfully halted".

Trump, in his social media post said the ongoing Thailand-Cambodia tensions reminded him of the South Asian neighbours' standoff, adding that he had helped bring about peace between them. He further warned that trade deals with both Southeast Asian nations could be at stake if the clashes between the two countries continue.

Continuing to stress on the international conflicts,US President Donald Trump took to social media to comment on the ongoing Thailand-Cambodia war, drawing parallels to past India-Pakistan tensions. Trump wrote, "Just spoke to the Prime Minister of Cambodia relative to stopping the War with Thailand.

I am calling the Acting Prime Minister of Thailand right now, to likewise request a Ceasefire and END to the War, which is currently raging.

We happen to be, by coincidence, currently dealing on Trade with both Countries, but do not want to make any Deal with either Country if they are fighting and I have told them so!

The call with Thailand is being made momentarily. The call with Cambodia has ended, but I expect to call back regarding War stoppage and Ceasefire based on what Thailand has to say.

I am trying to simplify a complex situation!

Many people are being killed in this War, but it very much reminds me of the Conflict between Pakistan and India, which was brought to a successful halt."

Thailand- Cambodia border unrest

Thailand and Cambodia's ongoing conflict escalated further with the two bordering nations pounding each other with heavy artillery fire for a third day on Saturday, causing the death toll to rise to 33, while leaving over 150,000 displaced from their homes spread across the frontier.
