Tehran: The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) conducted extensive overnight strikes on several military locations in Iran in the wee hours of Friday, June 19. Among the locations targeted by the IDF was the Organisation of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND). It is a facility allegedly involved in the nuclear programme of Iran.
The development was confirmed by the ISD. In an X post, the IDF stated that 60 Israeli Air Force jets conducted strikes on several locations in Iran. It also released thermal imaging footage of the strikes.
"The IDF completed a series of overnight strikes in the heart of Tehran: Dozens of targets were attacked, including military and industrial sites for missile production and the SPND headquarters for research and development of the nuclear weapons project," the IDF said in the X post.
Here Is The Thermal Imaging Footage:
"More than 60 Air Force fighter jets attacked dozens of military targets in Iran overnight (Thursday) with precise intelligence guidance from the Intelligence Branch using approximately 120 munitions," it added.
As per the IDF, on the intervening night of June 19 and 20, several missile manufacturing industrial sites in the Tehran area of Iran were attacked.
"These sites were built over years and were the industrial centre of gravity of the Iranian Ministry of Defense. Among the sites attacked were military-industrial sites for the production of missile components and sites for the production of raw materials used for casting rocket engines," it said.
The war between Iran and Israel entered its eighth day on Friday. Last week Israel launched 'Operation Rising Lion' against Iran targeting its nuclear installations and top leadership. Iran also conducted retaliatory strikes on key infrastructure facilities in Israel.
According to reports, over 600 people have been killed in Iran in the Israeli strikes so far.
