Operation Sindoor: At Least 10 Family Members Of JeM Chief Masood Azhar Killed In Pakistan's Bahawalpur, Terror Group's Statement Surfaces Online

New Delhi: Terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar's 10 family members were reportedly killed in the precision strikes carried out by the Indian armed forces in Pakistan's Bahawalpur. The operation 'Operation Sindoor' was launched by India for targeting terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Among the deceased were Masood's elder sister and brother-in-law. Reports also claimed that the JeM chief's four close aides were also killed in the precision strikes carried out by the Indian armed forces. Notably, the Indian Air Force (IAF) carried out these strikes in Bahawalpur.

The JeM confirmed the death of Azhar's 10 family members.

The Indian Armed Forces successfully struck nine terror targets, four in Pakistan, including Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot, and five in PoK, using special precision munitions in a coordinated operation.

The government on Wednesday addressed the media on the Operation Sindoor. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh attended the press conference.

Addressing the press conference, Misri said that Pakistan remained haven for terrorists. He added that India exercised its right to respond to, prevent, and resist cross-border attacks.

Misri said that India's response to cross-border terror attacks was "measured, non-escalatory, proportional, and responsible".

During the press briefing India also released details of the terrorist camps situated in Pakistan and PoK. which were targeted during the Operation Sindoor to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Addressing a Special briefing on the Operation Sindoor, Colonel Qureshi said, "Markaz Subhan Allah, Bhawanpur, is located 100 kilometers away from the International Boundary. It was the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed. It was also a center for recruitment, training, and indoctrination."

"Top terrorists often visited here. I would like to inform you that no military base was targeted, and there have been no reports of any civilian casualties so far," she added.

Meanwhile, Wing Commander Singh said that nine terrorist camps were targeted and successfully destroyed. She also confirmed that there was no loss of civilians in the Operation Sindoor.

The Operation Sindorr was launched almost two weeks after the Pahalgam terror attack.
