Six people, most of them children, were injured in Gaza City when a balcony collapsed during an aid airdrop, The Times of Israel reported Friday, citing local media. According to reports, an aid package airdropped into the city landed on a first-floor balcony, which gave way under the weight and the crowd that had gathered below.
Chilling Video Captures Tragedy
A video circulating online captures the exact moment of the incident. The footage shows a relief package descending from the sky and becoming lodged on the balcony. Dozens of people rush towards it in hopes of retrieving the supplies. Within moments, the structure collapses, sending debris and people tumbling onto those beneath.
While there are no confirmed reports of fatalities, the harrowing scenes show the desperation of Gazaās residents for humanitarian aid amid the ongoing crisis. This incident follows another tragedy earlier in the week, when Gaza medics reported that a man had died after being struck on the head by an airdropped aid package.
UAE Expands Lifesaving Support To Gaza With 66th Relief Airdrop
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates expanded its humanitarian support to Gaza with its 66th airdrop under the 'Birds of Goodness' initiative, part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. Conducted in cooperation with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and with participation from Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Italy, the latest mission delivered vital food supplies and other humanitarian assistance to hard-to-reach areas inaccessible by road.

The multi-nation effort aims to reach displaced and affected families across the Gaza Strip, where aid access remains severely restricted. With this latest delivery, the total amount of airdropped aid has exceeded 3,873 tonnes.
The UAE reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with regional and international partners to ensure the rapid and efficient delivery of assistance in line with the urgent needs of Gazaās population. Officials stressed that such operations are critical to alleviating suffering and addressing acute shortages of food and essential supplies as the humanitarian crisis deepens.
